From a man who’s insulated more than 6,000 houses. If you watch one thing before you spend a dollar on insulation, make it this — it’ll save you from the mistakes that leave homes hotter, not cooler.

Why a badly-installed roof can make your home hotter
The single most important point in the video: insulation done wrong — gaps, the wrong product, covering things that shouldn’t be covered — can trap heat and leave you worse off. Peter shows exactly how it happens, so you know what a good install actually looks like.
The scams and dodges to watch for
The “it removes moisture and stops mould” line, bad installers blaming your house or your whirlybird when a job fails, and the tricks that make a cheap quote expensive. Peter names them plainly.

Why he recommends pumped-in cellulose fibre for most roofs (a seamless blanket with no gaps, fire- and vermin-treated), and where polyester batts genuinely suit — like under floors.
