Meet the operator · since 1986
Peter Johnson
Founder & head of the family
The operator every Comfort Zone franchise is modelled on.

I'm Peter Johnson. I started insulating in 1986, took the business over from my father in the late 1990s, and I've personally insulated more than 6,000 roofs since, and the family business well over twice that. I still get up in roofs.
What makes this different is the product: we don't just install insulation, we manufacture our own cellulose at our factory in Tiaro. That means a franchise partner isn't buying batts off the open market at retail. They get the product factory-direct, made by us, and they're selling something genuinely better than fibreglass.
It's a real family business. My sons Noah and Eli work in it: Noah across the factory and the bagging machine, Eli in the day-to-day running of jobs. The systems we hand a franchise partner (the quoting method, the install checklists, the photograph-every-job quality process, the safety) are the same ones we've sharpened over 40 years and use ourselves every day.
When you take on a Comfort Zone territory, you're not buying a logo. You're stepping into a proven, hands-on trade business with a manufacturer behind you, an honest brand customers already trust, and a family who actually answers the phone.
“I'd rather have ten franchise partners who care about their own reputation than fifty subbies who don't. That's the whole idea: owner-operators building their own family business to our standard.”

Peter is the founder. Every Comfort Zone franchise is modelled on this business. Individual franchisee results vary and are not guaranteed; the real figures are set out in the disclosure document.
